2025 Cross Continental Cohort (CCC)

This is the 2nd edition of the CCC, where competitors are combined with teams across the world. An intensive 7 days of case-solving experience inviting you to truly think globally. 

About this challenge

This is an annual competition specializing in bringing country representations together.

We invite graduate students as well as qualified open level students to participate.

  1. Each participant begins the journey by completing an asynchronous Qualifying Exercise to verify their interests and skillsets.
  2. This is followed by a matching procedure where each team is composed of a variety of country representatives.
  3. The Cross-Continental Cohort Competition spans over 2 weeks where teams work together on a global impact project. (Giving participants 7 days to work together)

Training is provided for Presentation Skills, Analytical & Research Skills.

  • Teams are matched based on institution participation to maximize global diversity

Timeline: 

  • Registration begins each year early November
  • Qualifying Exercise is available by November
  • Matching begins January 20th, 2025
  • Cross Continental Cohort Competition begins January 25th to February 8th

FAQ

1) What does the opportunity mean for them (benefits, learning goals)

Participants gain the experience of working with team members from different countries reflecting of diverse cultures and perspectives

Pedagogical Objectives: 

  • Cultural Perspectives: Interacting with peers from diverse backgrounds exposes students to a wide array of perspectives and cultural nuances. This cultivates cross-cultural awareness and sensitivity, valuable in today’s globalized world.
  • Enhanced Problem-Solving: Different universities emphasize on varied approaches to problem-solving. Collaboration enables students to blend their methodologies in an innovative way.
  • Global Perspective: Collaborative case studies promote a broader understanding of global issues, economics, and cultural dynamics, contributing to a more informed and empathetic worldview.

2) The expectations for them to do (e.g. do online research, participate in ideation, attend consultations, make an online presentation etc.)

Participants will be matched by January 25, during this period from January 25th to February 7th, teams will work together to solve a sustainability challenge.
There will be 3 asynchronous training sessions with chat support through out the competition. Teams are expected to do research about the company, meet with mentors and make an final online presentation (scheduled to be on Saturday, February 8th)

Pre-Competition Set up: 

  • Each participant can register directly via Innovatank and access the challenge registration.
  • The organizing team will review all of the students and create the best matches to form teams of 4 students.
  • All teams will see the guidelines, resources and evaluation criteria upon logging-in.

3) How much time will be needed from them

Participants are expected to spend 3 x times x 3 hours  during the 7 days period to complete their presentation. And present themselves at the final presentation.

4) When exactly should they schedule their efforts?

The set period of work is between January 25th to February 7 leaving some buffer time in case of classes and other personal activities.

Competition Set up: 

Each team will have the opportunity to learn from a coach from the industry and in academia.

Each team will arrange in their preferred way to work together for the challenge submission.

On a set submission date, all teams will submit as per the guidelines.
