The rapid advances in digital innovations and technologies continue to accelerate the pace of globalization. This drives a significant increase in global air travel demand. While this enhanced connectivity offers numerous benefits, it also presents critical challenges, particularly concerning climate impact and organizational adaptation.

The sustainable development of the aviation industry is now more crucial than ever, making its transformation both urgent and imperative (Qiu et al., 2021; Hinnen et al., 2017; Kleiner, 2007).

Given these significant impacts on both climate and social ecosystems, it is essential to focus on the sustainability of all stakeholders, including the private sector, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), the United Nations (UN), and cities.

This collective effort towards sustainable development has led to the emergence of the notion of ‘Green Aviation’(GA).

The International Association of Green Aviation (IAGA) is inviting you to participate in this challenge, aimed at finding solutions to transform the aviation industry towards a sustainable future.

Competition Booklet: 

Guidelines:

• This is an Open to all, Research and International competition.

Format:

• Teams can be formed within their own institution or request to be paired of 3 to 4 students.

Timeline: 

• Registration Date ends on September 15th, 2024. (Mandate available as soon as you register)
• Preliminary Round Submissions are on September 25th, 2024
• Presentation to the Judging Panel will be scheduled between Sep 28th – 30th, 2024.

Cost: 

The registration fee per student is $47.50 USD / $65 CAD
(Student may request the sponsorship of their institution to attend this competition)

Award:

Top 3 teams are selected from this competition.

One representative from each top 3 teams will enjoy:

• Free and full package entry to the 2nd International Conference on Green Aviation (ICGA 2024)
• Accommodation at the venue hotel for four nights (Nov 5-9, 2024)
• 1000 USD for international travel fee subsidy (500 USD for Chinese participants)
• Free transport between the airport and the hotel venue
• Potential internship with IAGA ( 3 months to 1 year online)
• Publication of the case study findings
