SUMMARY:Business & Engineering Collaboration (BEC) Competition
DESCRIPTION:Business and Engineering Collaboration (BEC) Competition \nThe Business & Engineering Collaboration (BEC) competition is an innovative case competition for CEGEP students that brings together players from business and commerce\, as well as engineering\, pure and applied fields\, to solve real-world problems. The competition\, which lasts two months\, offers students a one-of-a-kind opportunity to hone their teamwork\, research\, analytical\, and presentation skills. \nDuring the competition\, students will collaborate in interdisciplinary teams to learn how to solve complicated challenges by combining technical knowledge with strategic business ideas. Participants benefit from hands-on workshops on effective teamwork\, presentation delivery\, and advanced research and analytical approaches\, which provide them with the tools they need to succeed in a competitive setting. \nThe culmination of the BEC competition involves a high-stakes presentation round\, where teams present their innovative solutions to a panel of esteemed judges from academia and industry. Winning teams earn the opportunity to compete at the university level\, further enhancing their exposure to engineering and commerce challenges and expanding their professional networks. \nBEC offers an unparalleled experience for aspiring leaders\, fostering creativity\, critical thinking\, and real-world problem-solving. It is more than just a competition—it is a transformative journey that prepares students for future academic and professional success. \nTimeline:  \n\nJan 25th – Team Matching composed of engineering and business disciplines\nFeb – 3 trainings are provided\nMar 5 – Presentations\nMar – Top team moves to a university wide competition

SUMMARY:Engineering and Commerce Case Competition
DESCRIPTION:Affiliated with the Open Accreditation Program at The World Case Committee \nSince 2013\, the Engineering and Commerce Case Competition has been leading a global initiative to encourage multidisciplinary dialogue and collaboration between engineering and business students\, offering the only opportunity of its kind\, allowing students to engage in a daring new learning experience before beginning their professional careers. \nEvery year\, we select schools from across the world to join our competition and spend an entire week where they engage in solving industry cases and displaying their skills for industry sponsors to see. Our participants are the foundation of our competition\, and as such they are selectively recruited. Our recruitment process is thoughtfully conducted and allows all interested schools to have the chance to apply for entry to our competition. Our external team works with our schools to assist with any questions they may have and to provide all necessary knowledge to simplify the process\, allowing for students to focus on the competition. \nhttps://www.engcomm.ca/participants \nFrom February 18 to 22\, 2025\, in Montréal\, one of North America’s most exciting cities. This event is packed with networking\, seminars\, and social events\, but the highlight is solving three real-world cases. \nMulti-disciplinary teams of four students will face the challenge of: \n\n\nTwo 6 hour cases \n\n\nOne intense 12 hour case
